Data and account deletion

How to delete what you logged, or your whole account, and what happens to it afterwards.

Last updated 26 October 2026

Draft. This text is still waiting for a legal review and may change.

Most of this is in the app, in Settings → Leave or delete. No longer have the app? See section 8. Questions: [email protected].

1. Delete an entry

Open the entry and tap Delete entry. It disappears from every phone in the household.

A deleted entry is marked as deleted rather than removed straight away, so every phone in the household learns of the deletion. After 30 days, what the entry said is erased from our servers. A minimal marker stays for the life of the household: what kind of entry it was, for which baby, who logged it and when it was deleted.

2. Leave a household

Settings → Leave or delete → Leave household. You stop seeing and logging for the baby. The household carries on without you, and the entries you logged stay with the other caregivers. If you are the only owner, you choose who becomes owner. This phone is cleared.

3. Delete a household

If you are its owner: Settings → Leave or delete → Delete household. The baby, every entry and every invite are deleted for everyone in it. Other caregivers lose access too, so tell them first. This phone is cleared.

4. Delete your account

Settings → Leave or delete → Delete your account. Your email address, sign-in details, sessions, name and role in every household, and feedback are deleted. This phone is cleared and signed out.

If you signed in with Apple or Google, Moraki also removes its access to your Apple or Google account.

Deleting can’t be undone, so export first if you want a copy: Settings → Data export → Export my data.

5. Households you share

A household where you are the only member is deleted with everything in it.

A household others share stays, because its entries are their record of their baby too. The entries you logged stay with the household without your account, and show as logged by someone who has left. If you were the only owner, you choose who becomes owner before you go.

6. What we keep afterwards, and for how long

7. Households we delete for you

Inactive households. A household with no activity for 24 months is deleted automatically, with everything in it. Activity means anyone in the household adding or changing an entry, changing the baby’s details, joining, signing in or using the app while signed in. After 23 months without activity, everyone in the household gets an email from [email protected] saying the household will be deleted in 30 days unless someone opens Moraki. Your account is not deleted.

Paused households. If no parent or guardian in a household has agreed to health data being processed for 90 days, every member gets an email saying the household will be deleted on a date at least 30 days later. Unless a parent or guardian agrees again by then, it is deleted with everything in it.

8. Without the app

Email [email protected] from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete your account. We’ll ask you to confirm from that address, then do it and tell you, within one month.

If you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, the quickest way is to install Moraki again, sign in with Apple and delete your account in the app. Or write to us from any address with the hidden address Apple made for Moraki (on your iPhone: Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple → Moraki). We’ll send a code to that address, which Apple forwards to you. Reply with the code to confirm.

If we delete your account after an email, we can’t remove Moraki from your Apple or Google account for you. Only the app can do that, on your phone. You can do it yourself. For Apple, on your iPhone go to Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → Moraki. For Google, go to myaccount.google.com → Security → your connections to third-party apps and services → Moraki.
