Age guides

A guide for every stage

What changes for you in the first year, and how Moraki can help at each step.

Every baby is different. These guides are about you and your notebook, not about how your baby should grow, eat or sleep. For any question about your baby’s health, ask your doctor.

The first days

Everything is new

Those first days go by in a blur of feeds, diapers and visitors. You won’t remember what happened two hours ago, and nobody expects you to.

What might you log?

  • Feeds
  • Diapers
  • Weight
  • Notes

How can Moraki help?

  • Two taps per entry, so logging never feels like homework.
  • The Home screen shows how long it’s been since the last feed.
  • Your doctor or midwife may ask about the last day. The call script has it on one screen.
Tip

Invite your partner on day one. Then both phones show the same notebook from the very first feed.

Weeks 1 to 4

Days and nights blur

Night and day stop meaning much. You take turns, you swap shifts, and you hand the baby over half asleep.

What might you log?

  • Feeds
  • Sleep
  • Diapers
  • Pumping

How can Moraki help?

  • Night mode switches on by itself, so the screen doesn’t wake you up.
  • Whoever takes over can see the last feed and the last diaper straight away.
  • Pumping and milk stock show what’s in the fridge before you warm a bottle.
Tip

Agree on one simple rule: whoever does it, logs it. Moraki shows who logged each entry, so nobody has to ask.

Months 1 to 3

More hands, more appointments

Grandparents start to help, visitors come and go, and the calendar fills with check-ups.

What might you log?

  • Appointments
  • Weight
  • Medication
  • Temperature

How can Moraki help?

  • Add questions to your next appointment as soon as you think of them.
  • Invite a grandparent as a caregiver, or as a viewer who can only look.
  • Medication entries show the time of the last dose to everyone.
Tip

Keep a running list of questions for the next check-up. You’ll forget them in the waiting room otherwise.

Months 3 to 6

Finding your own rhythm

Many families start to find their own routine around now. Some parents go back to work, and someone else takes a shift.

What might you log?

  • Naps
  • Feeds
  • Milk stock
  • Notes

How can Moraki help?

  • A nanny or grandparent logs during the day, and you see it from work.
  • Trends add up feeds and sleep by day and week. They show totals, not grades.
  • Milk stock helps you plan bottles before a day apart.
Tip

Back at work? Glance at the Home screen instead of texting home. The notebook is already up to date.

Months 6 to 12

New firsts

New foods when your doctor says it’s time, new sounds, new teeth for some. Every week brings something you want to remember.

What might you log?

  • Notes and firsts
  • Medication
  • Temperature
  • Appointments

How can Moraki help?

  • Notes keep firsts and questions with the date and time.
  • The PDF report gathers the last days before a check-up.
  • When you’re ready, export everything or delete it all from Settings.
Tip

Use a note for each first. A year from now you’ll be glad you did.
